Aggregates

We stock many different aggregates for use in all situations, these include:

  • Decorative gravels for driveways, pedestrian pathways, and all purpose garden use.
  • Various sands from fine building sands to simple childrens play pit sand
  • All-in mix for use with concrete
  • Scalpings/hardcore for sub-bases, and hardstandings

All our aggregates are stocked in 25kg bags, bulk bags, and we can deliver most aggregates in loose loads direct from the quarry.

Gravels:
20mm flint gravel

20 - 6mm Flint Gravel

Principal applications:

  • Final surface for driveways
  • Some ground drainage uses
  • Can be mixed with sand to make concrete
10mm flint gravel

10 - 6mm Flint Gravel

Principal applications:

  • Pedestrian Walkways
  • Useful between rockery gardens
  • Can be mixed with sand to make fine concrete
6mm flint gravel

6 - 2mm Flint Gravel

Principal applications:

  • Great on scree gardens and rockeries
  • Useful as a "pebble-dash" render
  • Can be used to aerate clay-type soils

Sands:
yellow building sand

Yellow Building Sand (fine sand)

Principal applications:

  • Fine, builder's sand used with ordinary Portland Cement to make mortar mixes
  • Used for blinding hardcore under damp-proof membrane
  • General building purposes

Sharp, Washed Pit Sand (sharp / coarse sand)

Principal applications:

  • 50mm layer used to lay paving blocks
  • Mixed with 10mm or 20mm aggregate to make concrete
  • General building purposes
red 50/50 building sand

Red 50/50 Building Sand (50% fine & 50% coarse mix)

Principal applications:

  • Often used for rendering *
  • Used for mortar mixes where a coloured mix is required
  • General building purposes

Play Pit Sand

Principal applications:

  • Used in children's sand pits
  • Won't stain clothing or hands
  • Softer to touch
